Ground up 33,700-ft2 commercial gym. MEP system included packaged rooftop unit with specialty filtration for chalk dust.
This project had the challenge of being a retrofit of an old industrial building with existing packaged rooftop systems some of which were no longer operable and some of which were to be reused for the new function of the building. To further complicate the project, the entire roof had to be removed and raised.
A portion of the project was a 2-level area with exposed structures on both levels that needed to be served from packaged rooftop units above with very limited space to run ductwork. Another area was a cantilevered section of the building surrounded by glass on 3 sides that had to be served from sidewall diffusers served by units on a higher roof on another portion of the building.
The existing electrical service was an old “high leg” service that needed to be completely redone.
