Designed 3 Moxies in AZ, FL, and Texas. MEP Systems included variable refrigerant flow (VRF), Water-source heat pumps, DOAS systems, Kitchen exhaust and make-up air systems, kitchen exhaust scrubber systems, packaged rooftop units, and tankless water heaters.
These projects were all on the first floor of a multistory building, one of which was a high-rise. Space for mechanical equipment and places to exhaust the kitchen were extremely limited. In one case, the space we were designing was originally designed as a retail space rather than a restaurant and did not have any previous consideration for the utilities needed for a restaurant. In one application we worked with the equipment manufacturers to design a heat removal system so that we could locate the condensing units and refrigeration units inside a parking garage.
These projects needed a high-end look with minimal diffusers and grilles showing from the mechanical systems. We worked with the architect to make our supply and return air grilles architectural features that would not be noticed, thereby giving the space a clean-looking ceiling.
